Galentines 2017

If you've been following me for some time, you know that one of my favorite traditions is Galentines Day (check out 2016's celebration here!). What started as a fun outing with my best high school friends has transformed an annual celebration that I look forward to all year.

This year's food brunch featured yogurt parfaits in mason jars, bacon (naturally), this breakfast casserole, muffins, and candy (duh). For decorations, I made a cute X&O tablecloth by painting on a disposable table cloth. Took about 5-minutes. I picked up some paper at a craft store and drew on them for placemats (a hack I'm sure I'll use again in the future!), and got other cute decorations from the dollar store! I'll tell you what that place is GOLD.

I don't always have the time (or budget) to mail out invitations, but I always still like to at least design something I can send out to my friends. It adds a little something extra and makes feel official. Plus, it's harder for an image to get lost in a text thread when everyone's looking weeks later to make sure they've got the right time, place, address, etc. This is what I designed for 2017. Nothing fancy, but pink and fun. You're free to steal the design yourself! In fact, if you'd like the Illustrator file, let me know and I'll send it to you.

I love thinking of different themes or activities to do each year. February 2017 I was 7-months pregnant (you'll see just HOW pregnant below haha!) so I knew it would have to be low stress, but I still wanted it to be fun. I had been saving cute painted pots on Pinterest for years and it was a pretty low-cost activity that allowed us to get creative, and end with a living thing to display in our homes!

I love hearing what traditions people have for Valentines and/or Galentines Day. I know some people go out to fancy tea! I think that's so fun and I'd love to do it one day. What are your favorite Galentines traditions?
