Brooke, On Top of the World

Where do I start. I've been MIA for a few weeks now, and you probably want to know why. You probably think I'm just sulking in my marshmallow bedding and sobbing through my classes over my recent break up. Well, you're wrong. This is the busiest I've ever been in my life. I'm usually on campus/at work 12-13 hours a day. I'm fine with that because BYU campus is actually a beautiful place, and I can usually find someone to give me free food 5 days out of the week. But that's not why I've been MIA either. I don't know if I told you that my 15" MacBook Pro has a disease. They cant really diagnose him. I've gotten a hard drive transplant twice, but still nothing. Good news though, I got a new baby girl, a 13" MacBook Air, and oh is she pretty. I've had her for 24 hours and I can't help thinking about her future with me and all the adventures we will go on.

I'm obsessed.

The first adventure we're going to tell you about is this last weekend, aka, the weekend where I stayed up for 46 hours straight, drank 80 oz of Red Bull, climbed mountains, danced in streets, and played a freakin' sick show, and also assumed the official position of 'sex appeal' in the band. Yes, quite the weekend. I'll spare you most of the details and give you the basics, then continue to show you the cool artsy pics I took in the mountains. Because lets get real, this is 2012. Who reads anymore?

disclaimer: this was my first weekend drinking energy drinks everr. I don't support them, or even really like them. But I found it necessary for me to consume as much caffeine as I could in order to stay alive this weekend. I don't plan on making this a habit.

Thursday night, at midnight (in order to get to the top for the sunrise), we hiked Mount Timpanogos. And by that I mean we hiked Stewart Falls, then Timponogos on accident #oops. How was it? The hike was hard, and long. It was hard because it was long. Worth it though.

Red Bull Count: 16 oz

When I got home I had barley enough time to shower before getting another Red Bull and heading off to the BYUSA retreat. If we're being real I don't remember most of that night. I was hitting walls, getting my 2nd, 5th, and 12th winds, and then hitting more walls. After 46 hours of being awake, I finally crashed.

Red Bull Count: 48 oz

The next day I came home and did important things that you usually do on a saturday. Washed my car, ran errands, you know. I had an hour nap, and another Red Bull before the show. And let me tell you, it may have been the Red Bulls, or it may have been the crowd, but that was the most fun I've had playing a show in the longest time.

Red Bull Count: 80 oz

Since then, I've crashed. Like, not even just one I took a nap. I literally can't stop sleeping. Is this what everyone else feels like all of the time?? The worst part is at the beginning of the year when I was all emotionally charged from a break up, sleeping < 4 hours a night, I signed up for extra classes, and committed to extra competitions and projects. Now I'm on the total opposite end and trying to keep up. help.
