Face Melting Classical Music

Music is an extremely huge part of my life. It always has been! If you're a new reader, or you don't know me so well, you may be surprised to find that I've played the cello for 17 years. I played competitively in high school, and attended BYU to major in Cello Performance. Things changed, including my major, putting my cello in the back seat for a while. HOWEVER, music has continued to be one of the most important things in my life. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.

*steps onto soapbox*

I always feel a bit weird writing about music because I've always felt that nobody felt it quite like I did. I mean, I don't know many other people who have cried on the stage of the Vienna Kanzerthaus during the climax of Barber's Adagio for Strings because the entire chamber orchestra hit it right on the nose, and you've never heard anything that sounded so perfect. It just feels too personal to me. And I know that sounds ridiculous, but it is. It's personal! I don't talk to many people about my relationship with music. It's a hard think to explain, and because it's so close to my heart and who I am as a person, it's a super vulnerable side of me that I don't like to show to just anyone.

It's not only that I enjoy music, it's that it literally dictates my life. I always wake up with a song stuck in my head. Sometimes it's a song I haven't heard for months, or years! But that song will determine how my day will go. If that doesn't convince you of how crazy I am, I'm not sure what else to tell you.

I've always wanted to share music on here, but I've always felt way nervous about it. What if people hated my music? What if they didn't get it? What if they didn't appreciate it as much as I did? What if the things I want to say about music you don't give a flying crap about? Then I realized that kind of thinking is stupid, and I don't really care what you think that much, so I'm just going to start sharing. I don't know what to tell you to expect because I have no idea either. I'm just going to start and see where it takes me.

I guess since we're on the subject of Classical Music, I'll start by sharing my Face-Melting Classical playlist on Spotify. Oh, by the way, I pretty much only use Spotify now, so if you have it be sure to follow these playlists so you can always have them forever and ever.

sidenote:
Isn't Spotify so great though? You can create playlists, share them, and follow other people's playlists too! It's my dream!

I often have people/friends/strangers ask me for good classical music, so I threw together this playlist of some of my favorites. Some of these are pieces I've played throughout the years, and some are favorites that I've stumbled upon that just get me way pumped! It's a combo of ballets and other works, and I'm always adding to it! Let me know what you think!
